HDFR 9

Might as well do another 5 while I'm at it since I'm dominating right now!

Bee movie:
Jerry Seinfeld is the voice of a Bee in this animated comedy. If you like Jerry's stuff then you'll like this movie. That's really all there is to it. Lots of Bee related puns and some good animation. I enjoyed this movie. That's all... no bad Bee related puns from me! I'm not into that!

The Peaceful Warrior:
Not sure how people can be warriors and peaceful but I guess they thought it was a good name for a movie so whatever. Anyway, one of the characters was supposed to be Asian or something and yet he looked white or Hispanic and not Asian at all and that was distracting to me... so much so that I really forgot the plot except that one dude liked this girl and so did his best friend and the one dude found out that he was her sister so he could do her but his friend was jealous b/c he thought the dude and his sister had a thing unknowing that they were kin... so anyway there's an invasion from a "rival tribe" and she gets kidnapped and then the drama breaks out and everyone is fighting everyone! blah blah blah... call Jerry Springer I'm changing the channel.

No Country for Old Men
Great movie. Much better than some other best picture winners ***cough cough crap movie of Departed reference again cough cough*** Anyway, very violent and interesting. I thought it was well made and very well acted. I'm not quoting the movie or anything but I def enjoyed it a lot!

Beowulf:
Better than I expected. I read this book like a million years ago it seems and I don't remember if it went by the book or not b/c everything was completely new to me I thought. I think the animation was graphic and distracting at best esp the "nude fight scene" Beowulf has with this weird troll dude. I enjoyed the movie and I don't think they ended it where they could have a sequel and that's always a plus in my book so I guess I'll give it a half a rockstar guy better...

Shoeless Rating: shoeless/shoeless.gif shoeless/shoeless.gif shoeless/shoeless.gif shoeless/shoeless.gif

War:
Jet Li and Jason Statham are awesome in everything I think. I wasn't completely shocked by the ending but it didn't really make me happy either. I like a good twist but clueless figured it out before I did and that was impressive at least. I thought the fight scenes were as good as expected and the movie had a good flow to it.

HDFR 8

Sorry it's been so long with these... I'll make up for it with 5 movies this time...

Firehouse dog:
Very childish and hookey just like most kids movies but interesting and a good family film for kids aged 10 to 17 i'd guess. Def a good movie for moms and women who like cute family movies. This is the type of movie they'd show on lifetime over and over again (and maybe they have for all I know shoeless/clueless.gif). Anyway, if you've got a date with a 15 year old girl and she hasn't seen it.... then you can seal the deal with this one!

Shoeless Rating: shoeless/shoeless.gif shoeless/shoeless.gif shoeless/shoeless.gif and a half

National Treasure:
great movie. I've seen it before but don't think I'd written a review. Anyway, this is like a modern day adventure flick that actually keeps you interested and doesn't disappoint with the twists and turns in the plot... even if they are ridiculously out there and unbelievable. I'll def have to watch the 2nd one whenever I think to put it on the list next haha

Into the Wild:
Apparently this isn't a new story. So, there was this dude who just one day decided this world is messed up (and he is right) and so he just up and dips out of his life. He starts by giving all his money away to a charity and then driving his car until it was pretty much out of gas and then he narrowly escapes a flash flood and then he begins his new life as a traveler and hippie or whatever. So anyway, he had a lot of great adventures and meets a lot of cool people only working enough to eat and lives off the land and travels by foot and train everywhere. So he eventually makes his way to his "dream home" of the Alaskan wilderness and proceeds to set up shop there. I won't go anymore into it than that but I must tell you this movie was great! and it also made me wish the guy wasn't such and idiot b/c he really understood life better than a lot of people ever will but he made some really bad decisions b/c he was too selfish to get any type of help which in the end was his down fall.

If you haven't seen this movie.... do. If you don't want to watch it... well then screw you shoeless/country.gif! haha

Savage seas: the deep
This movie might have been better had it been more accurate and up-to-date. I watch Discovery, what seems like, all the time and they have much more up-to-date findings that made most of this movie null-and-void! Besides that it was interesting and quite boring. I think it was a PBS movie or something too so that didn't help. All I could think of while watching it was "man, i wish i was there filming that stuff" but i wasn't...

Shoeless Rating: shoeless/shoeless.gif shoeless/shoeless.gif (and only this b/c it was too old to really be that great anymore maybe would have been a 3 or 4 10 years ago though)

Played
(I cut and pasted this from IMDB) "An examination of the malevolent London underworld with it's despicable criminal underground. Ray (Mick Rossi) just finished an eight year prison sentence after getting set up. Now he is back on the streets to settle the score." Yeah... so that's the movie and this guy is all about getting revenge... I'll save you 2 hours... he does and it's not that great. Low-budget and it showed. I wasn't that impressed.

HDFR 7

Brotherhood: life in the FDNY:
Honestly, I guess I put this movie on the list over a year ago b/c I don't really remember wanting to watch it. So when it came I was surprised and didn't even attempt to watch it. I couldn't tell you what it is about and don't really care. If you want to watch it be my guest but I didn't. I have since re-arranged my que list so that this won't happen again (hopefully). My apologies hehe

The Isle:
Very weird foreign film (Japanese i think) that was pretty much about this lake that people live on... it's weird b/c they are like floating docks with little shacks on them and people live in them. Their toilets are like holes in the floor that go into the lake. Then there is the lady, who can't speak, who like rents out the houses and also delivers stuff to the houses as well as whores herself out to different people as they ask. Then there was this murder mystery going on outside the lake until they track him to the lake and go to bust him. So anyway, it was a weird movie. Difficult to watch and very slow moving. It could have been 30 mins or more shorter and still be a decent movie but it just dragged on too much.

Yellow:
Story about a Hispanic dancer who leaves town when her father takes his own life and her life is pretty messed up otherwise. She bounces to NYC and figures out the best way to get on her feet is to strip for a living b/c she can still dance this way. Now that sounds really strange but actually it wasn't as bad as you'd expect. The stripping to "make it" was a little out there but the dancing scenes were pretty cool and not as stripper as you'd expect. Very interesting movie, strange but good. I liked it and it had a decent story, as weird as it was.

HDRF 6

Lonely hearts: This was a weird Bonnie and Clyde type movie except instead of robbing banks they use personal ads to attract lonely people into giving them money in place of love. Then they kill the people and take the money. Set in the 40s and stars Salma Hyakk (sp?) and Jared Leto as the bad guys and John Travolta as the main cop guy. Anyway... the plot was pretty interesting as well as weird. I'm not a fan of John Travolta but he always does a good job... i just don't like him much for his roles haha. For the most part it was a good movie. Very creepy and disturbing with the plot and the way everything went down but it seemed to be based on a true story so there's no telling how much of the plot was real and what was made up. There are some crazy people out there, that's for sure.

Trailer park boys sesaon 4: Always, awesome! always funny. always a good choice for some random watching.

Shoeless Rating: shoeless/shoeless.gif shoeless/shoeless.gif shoeless/shoeless.gif shoeless/shoeless.gif and a half

Deliver us from evil: Strange true life, documentary style, stories about people who had been sexually abused by priests when they were younger. This movie seemed to come out about the same time as all those catholic priests were getting in trouble for the same type of thing. This movie, however, was very boring considering. Not that it should have been all action and re-enactment scenes but it was very boring considering it really didn't have much of anything except talking. I really only made it about 30 mins in before I pulled the plug and stopped watching.

Please don't do business with AT&T

Ever gotten the raw end of a deal?

Ever been treated with so little respect that you honestly wish God's wrath upon them?

Ever been told "there's nothing we can do" when you know that statement is a lie?

Ever wished you could bankrupt a business just by willing it?

Ever wanted a chocolate cupcake?

Ok, I threw that last one in there to make sure you know I still have my sense of humor through all of this... but I digress...

In the past 3 months or so I've been trying to advertise for my business in the cheapest way possible. I've looked into print ads and radio ads and media ads and video ads and just about everything you can think of. I've exhausted all my options and narrowed them all down to a handful and then went through the vigorous process of trying to find the "best fit" for me.

Well, after a good while of searching and hours on the phone. I finally "figured out" that the best option was for me to "advertise" using the yellowpages and more specifically yellowpages.com or as you might know it www.666-satan's-anus-must-be-nicer-than-we-are.com

Well, to begin, they gave me the run around. Telling me that they couldn't give me an ad until next September.. meaning the September of 2009. Then they told me they could... then they couldn't again. I spent hours on the phone with these jackasses before they finally told me they could do something and then what they said and what they did were 2 different things. After about 2 weeks of this (calling at least once a day) I finally made some headway.

Now, I'll admit sometimes God puts a road block up for you to overcome and sometimes God puts a road block in front of you to warn you of impending DOOM! This was the ladder...

So... Let me get to the point. AT&T, FINALLY!! gets to me and "sets me up with what I need"... and I'm "thrilled to death b/c it's gonna be so great!!"

RIGHT!! dry.gif

So now I'm stuck in a "contract" that goes until 2009... YET! (and a big yet...) there is NOTHING in the contract that says I cannot break the contract... or end the contract early... or even pay a penalty to get out. Nothing. There's no stipulations about anything like that.

I hate money and people who love money... if you are only focused on money you will enjoy hell a lot when you die. shoeless/icanthearyou.gif

Here's a lovely video of a video that proves my point about AT&T as well... enjoy
