SAR 26-30

First I'll do some reviews and then I'm going to female dog (what else is new right?)

Everything is illuminated: This movie was put on the list by my mom after hearing about it from somewhere... anyway, I didn't have a clue what it was about or anything and it turned out to be a very good movie. The only actor that I had ever heard of was frodo baggins star Elijah Wood. This movie was about a jewish guy who travels to the Ukraine to find out some info about his grandfather/family. I won't go into much more but it was a great drama with a hint of humor throughout

Shoeless Rating: sarcasm/rock.gif sarcasm/rock.gif sarcasm/rock.gif sarcasm/rock.gif

When a stranger Calls: It is what it was expected to be. the previews tell you everything you need to know. Is it wrong that I would totally go to jail to bang the chick in this movie if she were underage? man she's hot... she's got some thick pooper eye brows though lol. Anyway nothing spectacular but decent and not boring. Didn't really set up a sequel either so if they don't make anotehr one I'll give it an extra star but if they do... I'll be pissed, and drop it down a level.

Shoeless Rating: sarcasm/rock.gif sarcasm/rock.gif sarcasm/rock.gif and a half (for now)

Blood Diamond: GREAT MOVIE! Leo did a great job, the story was awesome, they didn't really hold back on teh violence or truthfulness about it trying to sugar coat it. Jennifer Connelly is smoking hot (no nekedness though) and the black dude (not even gonna try to spell his name) did a phenominal job! I really enjoyed this movie.

Shoeless Rating: sarcasm/rock.gif sarcasm/rock.gif sarcasm/rock.gif sarcasm/rock.gif sarcasm/rock.gif

now for the bitching...

A few SARs ago I reviewed The Departed and said how it was an "OK" movie but not best picture worthy...

well in the last couple weeks since, I've tried to watch most of the other nominees (and still have a couple more to watch) and also just watch movies that I thought might be worthy of a nominee instead of The Departed in hoping that the Departed would end up being better than I'm giving credit for but much to my dismay... it has decided to Federline harder and longer than expected...

Here are a list of movies that one could make an argument for for best picture this past year (i'm sure I've left some off but here ya go)

The Departed (winner)
The Queen (nominee)
Little Miss Sunshine (nominee)
Bable (nominee)
Letters from Iwo Jima (nominee)
Flags of our fathers
Everything is Illuminated
Pan's Labrynth
Blood Diamond
The last King of Scotland
Catch A Fire

Now I have not yet seen all 11 of these movies however from what I have seen thus far... The Departed is last on my list... EVERY SINGLE ONE! not one movie or 2 that could be argued over... EVERY MOTHER shagging ONE IS BETTER THAN THAT PIECE OF dookie THAT WON! heck-fire I even liked 2 or 3 other movies that really aren't best picture mentioning worthy more than the defarted

It just goes to show you that Hollywood is just like HS and small towns, its politics that gets you ahead instead of talent or ability... and that's unfortunate.

A scanner Darkly: Keanu Reeves, winona rider, woody harilson and Robert Downey Jr were all in this movie and besides like one commercial I saw 2 years ago i really didn't know this movie exsisted but wanted to see it. It's like a drug trip type movie set in teh future but not like 100 years from now. its is like a cartoon but more like those financial commercials where they actually filmed it but then colored it later in photoshop or something. This was a weird movie but I liked it... def cool and had some boobs (even though they were animated)

Shoeless Rating: sarcasm/rock.gif sarcasm/rock.gif sarcasm/rock.gif and a half

The Persuit of Happyness: Will Smith. Enough said. Does he do a bad movie... ever??? I don't think so. but never the less great flick

Shoeless Rating: sarcasm/rock.gif sarcasm/rock.gif sarcasm/rock.gif sarcasm/rock.gif and a half

Waiting (unrated): funny movie that they could have made into a chick flick but didn't. lots of funny moments and if you have ever worked in food you'd like it even more. I couldh ave used some more female nudity though... but whatever

Shoeless Rating: sarcasm/rock.gif sarcasm/rock.gif sarcasm/rock.gif and a half

Just Friends: chick flick... no nudity but still kinda funny. I would shag the heck-fire out of anna faris and amy smart too but more so to anna...

Shoeless Rating: sarcasm/rock.gif sarcasm/rock.gif and a half (chick flick with no boobs can't get any higher)

Jarhead: decent flick. Jamie Foxx is a good actor and Jake Gillinhal (sp?) is too. I enjoyed this movie b/c it wasn't a typical war movie and from what I've heard from just about everyone who has actually been to Iraq/surrounding areas, the movie was pretty much dead on. It sux that wars still happen but even more so that people are dying and it's for wars like this

Shoeless Rating: sarcasm/rock.gif sarcasm/rock.gif sarcasm/rock.gif sarcasm/rock.gif

Children of Men: I didn't konw what this movie was about before I watched it and still kinda don't now lol. Not a bad movie but different, i think I must have missed something important when jess and I took a "break" in the middle of the movie b/c I was pretty much lost on why they world changed so much from now until 2027. Decent flick with some interesting scenes also some good camera work but it wasn't anythign that will stick with me down the road...

Shoeless Rating: sarcasm/rock.gif sarcasm/rock.gif sarcasm/rock.gif and a half

Black Christmas: ehh... what can you really expect from a movie called "black christmas"? I mean really. I think I knew going in it wasn't going ot be good so maby that's why I didn't really care when it totally sucked. I guess seeing half an pooper and a sideboob helped out some, but for the most part it was just disturbing and annoying. No good nudity, bad acting, bad plot, bad ending... it guess it just sucked

Shoeless Rating: sarcasm/rock.gif

Touristas (sp?): also terrible, had to even fastfwd this at times. very few boobs considering they even told you in the previews there were going ot be some and they didn't even last that long. very dissappointing all the way through

Shoeless Rating: sarcasm/rock.gif

VIDEO GAME: MLB 2k7: I guess I needed a baseball fix and i had a free game rental and they really didn't have anything else. Nothing special, it's a baseball game. Decent graphics some good game play even though I can't get it to do half of what I want sometiems but judging from all other sports games ever... i guess it's not that much of a stretch

Shoeless Rating: sarcasm/rock.gif sarcasm/rock.gif sarcasm/rock.gif

The Break Up: A LOT better than I expected... i mean 100% better than I thought it would be. It was funny and interesting and not as much of a chick flick at all. I think vince vaugn is awesome and histerical and jenn aniston looked good and not too sick/skinny and she even showed some blurry rear end. I enjoyed the movie and esp the ending

Shoeless Rating: sarcasm/rock.gif sarcasm/rock.gif sarcasm/rock.gif sarcasm/rock.gif

Little Man: hey, what do you really expect out of the wayan's bro's now-a-days? they did white chicks and now this. pretty much what you'd expect from a movie about a 2 foot tall guy who poses as a baby while trying to steal a diamond or something. I laughed a couple times b/c it was really stupid and i like that type of humor but i've already forgotten most of hte movie b/c i instantly became dumber from watching it

Shoeless Rating: sarcasm/rock.gif sarcasm/rock.gif sarcasm/rock.gif

Journey to the end of the night: Brandon Fraiser (the mummy) and mos def are the stars and Mos did a good job but Brandon looked like a 1st time actor in some scenes. It wasn't a bad movie but it def cleared up the reasons why it went straight to DVD. I enjoyed it for hte most part but i wouldn't recommend it to anyone

Shoeless Rating: sarcasm/rock.gif sarcasm/rock.gif and a half

Shoeless Access Reviews (SAR) 21-25

Thank you for smoking: this movie started off awesome! very funny and interesting then it got kind of boring... well not really boring but just like it just turned into a movie instead of being funny and out there. I still think it was a great movie but they just should have stayed on course from the first hour or so and then it would have been a great movie

Shoeless Rating: sarcasm/rock.gif sarcasm/rock.gif sarcasm/rock.gif and a half

My Super Ex-Girl Friend: this one was pretty funny as well. I like Luke Wilson and Uma Thurman is really hot as well as the other chick who is in all hte scary movies anna something. Also Dwight from the office had a great role and it's good to see Eddie Izzard getting some parts in Amercia. He's great but not wildly known here in the states. Overall this was a decent not-too chick-flick movie. Its too bad they cracked down on the pg-13 and R ratings a while back b/c this one would have been good unrated or R with some "sexier" scenes... never the less still decent

Shoeless Rating: sarcasm/rock.gif sarcasm/rock.gif sarcasm/rock.gif and a half

I'll start with 300...

300: I got TWO WORDS for ya... BAD MOTHER shagging pooper!! great movie, visually stunning. great special effects, graphic story taht doesn't hold back on gore, sex, anything. I think a lot of people were uncomfortable during the movie b/c of how graphic it was but man i loved it! Another thing I really enjoyed was that it didn't have mr 25 million a picture playing the lead. Everyone in this movie was a realitive unknown and that's what i'm all about. They saved millions on acting and got every penny's worth out of who they used! VERY GOOD MOVIE! GO SEE IT!

Shoeless Rating: sarcasm/rock.gif sarcasm/rock.gif sarcasm/rock.gif sarcasm/rock.gif sarcasm/rock.gif

man of the year: good movie, if you like robin williams you'll like htis one. If you don't like him don't bother b/c he pretty much holds the movie. Lewis Black and Christopher Walken do a great job as well but the plot as well as the comedy were good enough on their own.

Shoeless Rating: sarcasm/rock.gif sarcasm/rock.gif sarcasm/rock.gif sarcasm/rock.gif

Fastfood Nation: i hadn't heard about this movie and it seemed like it was a liberal agenda movie set to a "plot" but i enjoyed it none-the-less. It had some pretty graphic (real) slaughter house scenes in it and personally i've been to a slaughter house kill floor in person and so it didn't bother me too mcuh b/c most of teh intensity from that is from the smell but i'm sure it'll change a few opinions too. avril liveign (sp?), greg kinear, and fez from the 70s show were a few of teh main characters and they all did a good job and weren't out of their element, there were also bit parts from bruce willis, Patricia Arquette and ethan hawk... so i was kind of surprised that i hadn't heard abouut this one before hand. if you've got teh stomach for it then check it out.

shoeless rating: sarcasm/rock.gif sarcasm/rock.gif sarcasm/rock.gif and a half

The Last Kiss: kind of a chick flick. not as good as it could have been, had a good bit of boobs but still not a great movie. This is a prime example of a movie that I will forget in about a year.

Shoeless Rating: sarcasm/rock.gif sarcasm/rock.gif

Stranger than fiction: Good flick. Will Ferrell is excellent and the plot was funny and interesting. The ending was good as they didn't completely cop out and go with the cliche and also didn't go too artsy... they combined the two

Shoeless Rating: sarcasm/rock.gif sarcasm/rock.gif sarcasm/rock.gif sarcasm/rock.gif

Zoom: good kids movie. If you like Tim Allen type humor then you'll like this movie. Great stuff at times and chevy chase did a great job as well. I hope to see more movies with both soon. I enjoyed this movie even with the cheesy comic themes.

Shoeless Rating: sarcasm/rock.gif sarcasm/rock.gif sarcasm/rock.gif and a half

The Presteige - not bad. Not realistic but that kind of made it interesting b/c you didn't really know what the "twist "was goin to be. Michael Caine pretty much always does an excellent job and Hugh Jackman did a good job as well. The jury is still out on that other dude (the new batman) but scarlett johanason was hot and david bowie had a camio. I wouldn't really want to see this one again but it wasn't bad to watch once

Shoeless Rating: sarcasm/rock.gif sarcasm/rock.gif sarcasm/rock.gif and a half (we need to make a half shoeless thing lol)

The Devil wears prada: was the sux! not a good movie pretty much at all. It was a chick flick with a bad ending and really nothing for a straight guy to enjoy at all. The love story was the type that I absolutely can't stand where they make the lead girl a shagging lady of the night and glamorize it. She had the "perfect" guy back at home and then she gets this shagging job and what happens? he stays around being perfect and she goes and changes... everyone shagging sees her changing and she doesn't care. then she says "we should go on a break" and then she fucks some other guy... then they never talk about it or anything and blah blah blah it's a shagging terrible movie!

Shoeless Rating: nausea, heartburn, indesgestion, upset stomach and diarhea are better

Mission Impossible III: probably the best of the MI series so far but still not great mainly b/c of Tom Cruise. I think as long as he's working and i'm not i'll be bitter but it was a good movie. PRetty much non-stop action and a decent plot. The twist wasn't too "crazy" but most wouldn't swee it coming. The only thing missing was the badass rock version of the MI theme by POD instead of hte original score.

Shoeless Rating: sarcasm/rock.gif sarcasm/rock.gif sarcasm/rock.gif sarcasm/rock.gif

The Illusionist: great movie, keep my attention the whole time and also had a great story that did a great job holding the plot, keeping it realistic and interesting. I liked this movie even more so than the presteige (another magic movie). Ed Norton is a great actor in everythign he does and jessica biel is SMOKING HOT all the time. no nekedness but still good.

Shoeless Rating: sarcasm/rock.gif sarcasm/rock.gif sarcasm/rock.gif sarcasm/rock.gif

Eragon: only problem i had with the movie was it was too short. There are some movies that you can make 2 hours long and everyone will be bored to death and other movies that if you don't make 2 hours long you short the plot and story.... this was the latter. This shold have been a 2.5 hour epic movie like lord of the rings but better but instead it was barely 1.5 and seemed to cut out way too much of the plot and made it less interesting and cheesy instead. i still want a dragon of my own though

Shoeless Rating: sarcasm/rock.gif sarcasm/rock.gif sarcasm/rock.gif (could have been a 4 but too short)

The Lady In the Water: So i heard nothing but negatives about this movie before i saw it , so maybe i had lower expectations than usual but i really liked this movie. Bryce Dallas Howard has some of the prettiest eyes you'll ever see and if you can get past the fact that she looks like her dad she's really hot too. I liked this movie and thought it was well done. Not really scary or anything but that's more the public's fault for pigeonholeing M. Knight Shabangbang into sometihng instead of taking him for everything. I liked this movie and would recommend it as long as you go into it with an open mind for someething different.

Shoeless Access Reviews (SAR) 16-20 (oscar special)

Accepted: I enjoyed this movie. it was funnier than I had expected and the plot was very unrealistic but i like that they just didn't care and went with it to the extreme. The characters were pretty good and they didn't dwell on the "love story" part of the movie and instead kept it just fun and stupid.

Shoeless Rating: sarcasm/rock.gif sarcasm/rock.gif sarcasm/rock.gif sarcasm/rock.gif (no boobs)

The Gathering: Christina Ricci is HOT! too bad she didn't get naked haha. Oh well... decent movie, different plot but that's fine with me. I hadn't heard of this movie before renting it so i didn't really have any expectations but it's not really a horror movie as listed.

Shoeless Rating: sarcasm/rock.gif sarcasm/rock.gif sarcasm/rock.gif and a half

Ant Bully: decent cartoon flick. they do a good job now-a-days of making the jokes funny for adults and kids. But the highlight of hte flick by far was Bruce Campell being a voice of one of the ants. Bruce Campell is the best character actor ever and if you disagree you can sarcasm/fanger.gif

Shoeless rating: sarcasm/rock.gif sarcasm/rock.gif sarcasm/rock.gif and a half b/c of Bruce!

School for Scondrals (sp?): Decent flick. I don't really care much for Billy Bob or John Heder but they did a decent job and i was fairly interested the whole time. However, for it to be an "unrated" movie I was left scratching my head going ... what the heck-fire did they need to rate? I LOLed about 2 times and so that's my rating.

Shoeless Rating: sarcasm/rock.gif sarcasm/rock.gif

Rumor has it: So i am doing this plan so the dvds go to my mom's house (mainly b/c i don't get mail in a timely manner here at my apts and it's a way for her to get to see some movies too for cheap)

so anyway the downside ot this sometimes is that sometimes she gets to put movies on the list that I don't care about... this is one of those times. Usually it'll be something stupid and I'll just watch ti b/c I'll watch almost anything.... not this one though

Shoeless RAting: chick flick unratable!

So as a fair trade off for not watching that crap movie i got American Pie (naked mile): besides the fact that it had boobs (and mostly real ones) all the way through this movie was terrible! I litterally ffwded it through most of it until I saw boobs.

Shoeless rating: sarcasm/rock.gif sarcasm/rock.gif b/c like boobs it should come in a pair

FlightPlan: decent flick but nothing that intense or really on the edge or your seat type thing. I figured out 99% of hte movie before it was 5 mins in. I liked it but not really enough to see it again or recommend it to anyone

Shoeless Rating: sarcasm/rock.gif sarcasm/rock.gif

The Covenant: bad acting. Stupid plot. Man pooper and no boobs. If they made it rated R and threw in an orgy with only hot girls and me it'd be better but otherwise

Shoeless Rating: sarcasm/rock.gif sarcasm/rock.gif

Flags of our Father: Clint Eastwood is a good director. I like a lot of WWII films and this one was another good one. I thought the action was good and the story was well told. I'm going to get the letters to iwo gima (sp?) movie when it comes out too (also directed by clint). All in all a good movie.

Shoeless Rating: sarcasm/rock.gif sarcasm/rock.gif sarcasm/rock.gif sarcasm/rock.gif

Ok So I just happen to have rented The Departed before the oscars and it ended up winning but let me say what I thought about it.

The Departed: First of all I had heard that this film had a scene where Jack does a line of cocaine off some naked chick's pooper and when the scene came in the movie it was cut. Now I'm not sure if i just got a bad version of the movie but I know i didn't get the clean version b/c the rest of it was filled with cussing and violence. So that took my opinion of hte movie down a little bit but I digress... was this movie good? yes. was it great? no. Was it oscar worthy? DEF NOT! I mean this goes back to last year when crash won. It was a great movie but the reason it won was b/c most of hte people in the movie were voters for hte oscars same can be said about the departed... HELLO?!@?! jack, leo, damon, marky mark, directed by scorsezy etc etc etc... The problem I have with the movie was that it wasn't really that original. It reminded me of a boston godfather with less plot and more violence with less emotion and more ignornant cussing. I did like the ending b/c it basically ruined the chances of any sequels but now that I know it won best picture my opinion of the oscars (and this movie) continues to fall.

Shoeless Rating: sarcasm/rock.gif sarcasm/rock.gif

I also saw a few more movies this weekend:

Cars: decent flick even though I didn't like owen wilson as a voice i LOLed a few times and thought this was a decent flick. I think it was a little too long at 116 mins though and thought it dragged at times thus dropping the rating for me a little

Shoeless rating: sarcasm/rock.gif sarcasm/rock.gif sarcasm/rock.gif

SPECIAL IN THEATRE REVIEW: Reno 911, Miami: Terrible movie. not worth any amount of money you'd want to pay to see it. But there were some boobs but it didn't really outweigh the rest of the suckiness!

Shoeless review: sarcasm/rock.gif

Momento: remember the Seinfeld episode where they went in reverse? well this was the movie that did the same thing. It wasn't a bad movie but it just dragged and dragged and dragged so i started ffwding it about half way through and would stop during the dialogue scenes then ffwd the rest. I don't think i missed anythign b/c it was pretty easy to follow since I already knew what happened next/before. anyway it wasn't a bad movie but anything i have to ffwd through and with no boobs gets a bad rating

Shoeless Rating: sarcasm/rock.gif and a half

Idiocracy: i liked this movie more than I expected. Very stupid humor and a good take on something people aren't really talking about with the future. I like Mike Judge (creator of bevis and butthead and king of the hill) so if you like either of those shows you'll prob like this too even though its nothing of the sort. I LOLed quite a few times in this one and would watch it again

Shoeless Rating: sarcasm/rock.gif sarcasm/rock.gif sarcasm/rock.gif sarcasm/rock.gif

Tenacious D, The Pick of Destiny: This was a decent movie but it wasn't really that new. I don't konw if anyone has seen it before but Jack Black and Kyle Gass had a show on HBO or Showtime about 5 years ago that was pretty similar to this movie. The mmovie had more of a plot but the shows were funnier. The songs in the movie weren't really all that new either, they were kind of a spin on the stuff they already have. Maybe i expected more from them but it just wasn't as good as it could have been considering The D is an awesome band they are awesomely funny in everything they've done up to now.

Shoeless Rating: sarcasm/rock.gif sarcasm/rock.gif

Babel: very good movie. Much better than The Departed. A better story, weirder and not as main stream. Brad Pitt is AN AWESOME ACTOR and doesn't get nearly as much credit for his acting as he should b/c of his looks. One way I look at how good a movie is i take out all the actors that I know and ask myself "how good of a movie be with nobodys playing hte smae part" this movie was pretty much nobodies to begin with (minus Brad and the one girl whose name escapes me right now).... it's unfortunate that this movie was snubbed at the oscars and the departed won b/c this was a better movie for writing, story, and acting... maybe I'm just going to keep being mad b/c the departed won but it's movies like this and little miss sunshine that make movies and the academy worth a doggone and winners like "who farted" make it crap.

/Rant

Shoeless Rating: sarcasm/rock.gif sarcasm/rock.gif sarcasm/rock.gif sarcasm/rock.gif

Flyboys: very very good movie. One of the best I've seen in a while and i really didn't think I wanted to see this one previously. Very good story, special effects and subplots. It was based on a true story and they didn't "hollywood" it up too much and make it all happy and Doogie. It was well told and made you really appreciate something that really isn't talked about much anymore. I enjoyed this movie (also it was better than the departed lol)

Final Destination 3: Note to Hollywood... too many sequels ruins original premises for movies... but thanks for the gratuitous boobies

Shoeless Rating: sarcasm/rock.gif sarcasm/rock.gif sarcasm/rock.gif and half thanks to the boobs

Bench Warmers: stupid stupid stupid... not very funny but had it's moments. no boobs or any nudity so

Shoeless rating: sarcasm/rock.gif sarcasm/rock.gif

hopefully there'll be more boobs in my future sarcasm/rofll.gif

The Matador: good movie. some funny stuff along with a good story. Enjoyed this movie when I didn't really think Iwould..

Unknown: another good movie. It's refreshing to see something that is different that didn't Federline. They took a played out theme and put a twist on it and it didn't Federline. Good plot and i liked the ending

Shoeless Rating: sarcasm/rock.gif sarcasm/rock.gif sarcasm/rock.gif sarcasm/rock.gif

Catch a Fire: SEE THIS MOVIE! Amazing movie. This is a movie that more people should see esp people that probably wouldn't like it. This movie takes a true life look at an ex-political prisoner set in South Africa before their liberation in 1991. This was a great movie! Derek Luke is an amazing actor and Tim Robbins did a heck-fire of a job. Filmmaking at it's finest right here

Shoeless Rating: sarcasm/rock.gif sarcasm/rock.gif sarcasm/rock.gif sarcasm/rock.gif sarcasm/rock.gif

Open Season: The Doogie people of the world made me enjoy this movie less than I would have otherwise. The two main characters refered to themselves as partners the whole time and so it made it seem like they were Doogie for each other... besides that it was a "cute" movie. better for kids than adults but with some hidden adult humor. Aston Kutcher did a better job with his "cartoon" voice than Martin Lawerence but they both were good.

Shoeless Rating: sarcasm/rock.gif sarcasm/rock.gif sarcasm/rock.gif

16 Blocks: good movie, Good plot. Bruce Wilis did as expected and Mos Def did a very good job. I wasn't as much of a a clifhanger as they make it out to be but still very good.

Shoeless Rating: sarcasm/rock.gif sarcasm/rock.gif sarcasm/rock.gif and a half

The Ringer: Considering it was a movie about a guy who pretends to be retarded so he can fix the Special olympics... it had more of a plot than expected. Not a good career choice for anyone in it but I always enjoy a good laugh at the expense of others no matter what their mental condition.

Shoeless Rating: sarcasm/rock.gif sarcasm/rock.gif sarcasm/rock.gif

Glory Road: Good movie. Only complaints I have with this movie is what I usually have with any movie dealing with racism/hate... they don't go hard enough, meaning... this was a disney movie. Disney kept it PG-13 and they didn't need to. Same with the movie Crash last year, both movies really hit hard showing hate etc but they don't show it deep enough. I grew up in some bad areas and saw some things that I wish I didn't but one thing I've learned is that hate is a lot deeper than movies like this will ever portray. but... even with my disappointment it was still a great movie

Shoeless rating: sarcasm/rock.gif sarcasm/rock.gif sarcasm/rock.gif sarcasm/rock.gif

Running with Scissors: well... the caption on the back of hte box says "one of hte funniest movies of the year" ... yea well... NO! this was a good movie but "funny" is not a word I would use to describe it. However Evan Rachel Wood might be one of the hottest chickss on the planet... too bad she wasn't a major role in teh character. I guess I enjoyed this one but it made me depresed.

Shoeless Rating: sarcasm/rock.gif sarcasm/rock.gif and a half

Two Disney movies...

Invincible: this movie was decent, good story with a lot of potential but i just wasn't buying it. Not the story but the way Disney portrayed it... i mean, it's Philly, in the 70s, with working class men who are trying to make it in an industrial city/time... and they didn't say hardly any 4 letter words. I just was lame, too "family oriented" instead of being real. It still was a decent movie but if they made it rated R and had it more realistic it could have been great.

Shoeless Rating: sarcasm/rock.gif sarcasm/rock.gif sarcasm/rock.gif

The Greatest Game Ever Played: Not the Greatest movie ever made but def a great movie! I'll admit I got a little teary eyed at the end and I hardly ever do this so that's saying a lot. I will def watch this one again and might even add it to the collection.

Shoeless Access reviews 6-10

Ice Age II (the meltdown): decent flick, I don't think there's been a bad animated movie i've seen in a long time. I don't really see a lot of them but it seems like everyone i see... is good

Shoeless Rating: sarcasm/rock.gif sarcasm/rock.gif sarcasm/rock.gif and a half

The mating habits of the earthbound human: (I think that's what it's called anyway) enjoyed this one as well. Very funny all the way thru. Carmen electra is hot too and the only complaint I would make would be that she didn't get naked enough for me, but that's what the internet is for so i won't hold it against the movie...

Shoeless Rating: sarcasm/rock.gif sarcasm/rock.gif sarcasm/rock.gif sarcasm/rock.gif

The Protector:

Quintin Tarintino (sp?) must have been on crack when he made this movie! Seriously the fight scenes were great but the rest of the movie made no sense and the plot was laughable! I mean it was like

so what are we going to do with the... (fight starts) ya! ya! huh! ya! crunch! ya ya!

it was random and pointless... like I said the fight scenes were great but the rest of it blew my balls!!

Shoeless Rating: sarcasm/rock.gif

Fearless:

Jet Li is totally underrated as an actor! and this movie had just as good of fight scenes as the protector except (gasp) this one actually had a good plot! very good movie! if you don't believe me rent it smile.gif

Shoeless rating: sarcasm/rock.gif sarcasm/rock.gif sarcasm/rock.gif sarcasm/rock.gif

The Black Dahlia: good flick, good story and besides teh cheese ball music and overly used cliche's i liked it. Scarlett Johanson is hot and so was Hillary Swank (kinda)... josh hartnet actually surprised me with his acting in this one as well but the storyline kept me in check regardless. oh and there were some boobs too

Shoeless Rating: sarcasm/rock.gif sarcasm/rock.gif sarcasm/rock.gif sarcasm/rock.gif

Over the Hedge: very good cartoon children's movie animated thing. Steve Carell steals the movie as "Ham" the squirrel but very good for adults as well as children. I LOLed a few times.

Shoeless Rating: sarcasm/rock.gif sarcasm/rock.gif sarcasm/rock.gif and a half

Saw III: not nearly as good as Saw 1 or 2... I did not enjoy this movie... pretty much at all. It was gorey and distrubing. I didn't think it was the distrubing ot me really but the way i look it it... there's someone out there who's not imaginative or creative but he is a sicko and now he can take this movie and put his sickoness and uncreativeness together to actually do what he saw in the movie.

Shoeless Rating: 0 out of 5 that's right a zero! I wouldn't want to see this movie again... well, ever!

Silent Hill: great movie bad ending. The movie was weird and out there and had some good special effects and was kind of thrilling and it had an OK plot... however the ending didn't really explain much and it left you hanging. I'm sure they'll try and make a sequel to it but it should have just ended it when it was over. This causes the movie to receive a lower rating...

Lucky # slevin: very good flick. Good cast, good story, good acting, good everything.

Shoeless Rating: sarcasm/rock.gif sarcasm/rock.gif sarcasm/rock.gif sarcasm/rock.gif

American Dreamz: Mandy Moore, Denis Quaid, and Hugh Grant in this satirical look at American and hollywood in an american idol type of show... Great movie! Mandy Moore is hot and the plot is great! Very good movie if you like the cynical type of humor making fun of mainstream america. I enjoyed this movie

Shoeless Rating: sarcasm/rock.gif sarcasm/rock.gif sarcasm/rock.gif sarcasm/rock.gif

Haven: this is a movie you've probably never heard of. This movie had orlando bloom and that's about it in it and yet it was done by the same people that did hte movie "crash" I enjoyed this movie as well. Very dark plot with lots of drug deals/usage and a very dramatic plot... I thought it was well layed out and I'm glad I took the time to give it a look.

Shoeless Movie Reviews (Shoeless Access Reviews or SAR)

Hey guys! A lot of you don't know this but I'm a huge movie buff! and unless you are dense you should already know that I love making movies as well.

Well, early this year I joined the Blockbuster total access online so that I could maxamize my movie watching as well as save some money in the process. You know you can almost watch 1 movie a day if you work that system right? And for only $17 a month that's like renting movies for less than 50 cent a pop... well i'm not advertising for them but instead let me give you some basic reviews from what I've seen so far this year.

I'll start with my first SARs and work my way forward until I catch up to where I am presently...

SAR 1 - 5

Jackass #2... yea it was just what you'd expect... some funny segments but the rest was just stupid and nasty. Don't recommend unless you LOVED the 1st one I give it sarcasm/rock.gif sarcasm/rock.gif out of 5

The Decent.... i'm not a fan of closterphobic type of scary things and this had a couple scenes that hit a nerver there, but for a flick that had nothing but chicks as the lead rolls there wasn't nearly enough "experimentation" for me lol. Would not recommend sarcasm/rock.gif sarcasm/rock.gif out of 5

Little miss Sunshine: decent flick, not really that funny but i chuckled a few times. Not a bad plot but more of a dark comedy than anything. I like dark movies therefore I'll give it sarcasm/rock.gif sarcasm/rock.gif sarcasm/rock.gif our of 5.

in the 2nd batch of movies we've got:

Pirates of the caribean II:

i didn't want to see the first one and really didn't care to see the 2nd one. both are "good" but i guess I don't get it like some people do. Johnny Depp is a great actor... keira knightly would look better if she ate more and got naked... that otehr guy needs to be less Doogie and i can do without all the cgi effects... still it had its moments but of course they set it up for a sequel that i will be equally not anxious to see

Shoeless rating: sarcasm/rock.gif out of 5

A inconvienent truth: everyone in america should see this movie... unfortunately the people who need to see it most will pretend it's all lies and myths therefore pretty much shaging us all in the pooper and our children until it's too late. I am going to try and do my part and convince people to do theirs as well and I pray that maybe enough will be done to help reverse the trends before it's too late... unfortunately for the USA and most of hte world... people care about money more than just about anything else and I'm not gonna even try to tell them that money doesn't mean anything when you are dead.

shoeless rating: sarcasm/rock.gif sarcasm/rock.gif sarcasm/rock.gif sarcasm/rock.gif and a half out of 5 (if al gore left his stupid politics out of it it would have been a winner but not so much for a movie but as an eye opener)

moving on... the last movie was:

Snakes on a plane:

not the best movie ever but not the worst either. I was told it was "supposed to be stupid" well if that was the case they failed. It wasn't stupid enough to really be humorus and it wasn't serious enough to be interesting.

Shoeless rating: sarcasm/rock.gif out of 5

Slither: better than snakes on a plane but no boobs so it gets the same rating...

Shoeless Rating: sarcasm/rock.gif sarcasm/rock.gif

Garden State: natalie portman is hot. Zach Braff is becoming one of my new favorite actors and after I finished watching the movie i thought to myself "how in teh world did I not see this movie sooner". Very funny and emotional... little bit of a love story but very subtle and so i thoroughly enjoyed this one...

Shoeless rating: sarcasm/rock.gif sarcasm/rock.gif sarcasm/rock.gif sarcasm/rock.gif sarcasm/rock.gif best one so far

Clerks 1 and 2:

1: not as funny as I remembered but still funny. It seems lots of other movies stole quite a bit from this one. Decent flick glad its in my collection

Shoeless rating: sarcasm/rock.gif sarcasm/rock.gif sarcasm/rock.gif and a half

2: not as good as the 1st, maybe i'm older but it was too crude for me for some parts. the main guy has aged well the other guy hasn't lol.

Shoeless rating: sarcasm/rock.gif sarcasm/rock.gif

All the kings men:

what happens when you compile the high powered cast of characters that includes: Sean Penn, Jude Law, Anthony Hopkins, Kate Winslet among others?

well you bore me to sleep... lol... not really but this wasn't my favorite movie. It seemed to drag during spots and lacked suspence. There was an either underused or pointless love story that didn't get set up enough or could have been omitted either way it wasn't layed out right. This movie could have been great but the writters and director seemed to ruin it for me. I could have done a better job

Shoeless Rating: sarcasm/rock.gif and a half

The Davinci Code:

Tom Hanks was not needed in this movie. They should have saved the money they spent to get him and used an unknown. He wasn't bad but anyone could have done as well for this part as it wasn't a part that really needed acting supremacy to fill it. The chick was good looking though.

The plot was decent but i don't see where all the up roar from the book or movie came from... no wait, now I see it.... It's called a lack of imagination from 99% of the world and esp the "Churches". I figured out the ending in the 1st 30 mins of this 2.5 hour "thriller" and so it didn't really do much for me... but i guess if i hadn't opened my mind up to any different beliefs in over the last, oh i'd say, 2000 years... I guess i'd have thought it was blasphamous too.

Blog update for Shoeless Works Sept 11th 2007

No more football predictions from me people… don’t come here for that again: I think I’m going to start my movie reviews instead but not in this blog.

Clemson is not something I wish to discuss in my free time anymore after all the things that have happened in the last 2 years and then more specifically at the games this year, I’m not very happy with the administration or fan base at the moment. I still love Clemson and they will always be my team but there are more people that are ruining it for me right now.

If you are wondering what is going on with Shoeless Works then here you go….

I’ve been working on some new video ideas lately as well as t-shirt designs. There should be anywhere from 2 to 8 new t-shirts out by the end of this week.

Also, there will be a new video released at the end of this month or the beginning of Oct. I also plan to release a few more videos in October and November.

If you have an idea of a t-shirt you have always wanted but didn’t have the time to create let me know and I’ll work on it for you. The same goes for video ideas as well.

Plus if you are looking for photography, videography or video editing work let me know too… that’s our specialty!

Anyway there’s not much more to report but bad news so just keep checking in regularly and say a prayer for us! We could really use the prayers right now!

Thanks
Shoeless Works

September 5th 2007

Hello everyone....
It's been awhile since I posted a blog here so I figured I'd kick off the 2007 fall with a couple...

First of all I'll start with some info about myself and my site and then I'll go into football discussions.

Shoeless Works is not shutting down nor will it be shutting down anytime soon. I will renew my site for another year in November as planned and even if I have to start over from scratch I'm going to be working hard on entertaining you as usual.

Now, the types of videos that will be released will be slightly different than before but no less entertaining. Instead of high energy Clemson football you'll get highly entertaining comedies and short films. I've already started with my original videos "The Gay Comment Card" and "Shoeless Gets a haircut" and I already have plans for new releases later in September and early October. Don't delete my bookmark just yet haha. Give me a few videos to test out first.

Shoeless Works also has an online store and it will be updated frequently. If you are interested in supporting me or showing your support and can't afford to hire me for a job... buy a button or sticker. They are cheap and every little bit helps.

Also, check out my forum. It's pretty much on the ground floor right now but we're trying to grow it. It's meant to be fun and offer a place for you to just kick back and make fun of stuff. There are pretty much no rules there either except for adult content. So if you are tired of the liberal media or the conservative anything come on over and vent about it... we won't mind.

Both my forum and online store can be found straight from my website. http://www.shoelessworks.com/blogstore/index.html

Now let me change gears some and start talking about some Football!!!

First, as always, let's talk about Clemson.

Clemson fans! I know you are excited! You think it's back to glory time again! Well, hold your horses. I'm not saying it's not going to happen but let me just remind you of ... well, every Clemson team of the last 10 or so years. The team that we see at the beginning of the season is not usually the same team we see at the end.... and that can be good or bad depending on the season. So let me offer some advice that I heard this Monday tailgating before the game.... don't make up your opinions or mood depend on one game Clemson plays.

Don't get too excited when we win and don't get too down if we lose. We are good team but I'm not sure how good just yet. The next few weeks might feed our delusions too if we aren't careful. I mean we've got LA Monroe, Furman and then NCSU.... that's not exactly a "tough stretch". But don't be surprised if we get upset in any of these either. We can't fall asleep as a team and as fans we can't just expect to win.

I personally think that this will be a pretty easy 3-0 start with no much of a struggle and then NCSU actually giving us a game but not knocking us off 4-0 but this prediction is also based on the team that I saw on Monday night. If we don't get some things fixed we will lose a game b/c of Special Teams this season and we could have trouble if we get anymore injuries (please God don't let anyone else get hurt)!

As for the rest of the season.... I'm not going there. I'll try and give a weekly or bi-weekly look at somethings but that's where I'll stop.

As for the rest of the NCAA the best advice I can give is to sit back, shut up and enjoy. There will be a set of great games every weekend and a few "who saw that coming" type upsets as well. I could get into picking the winners of every week but I think this year I'll save 20 mins and just let it happen instead. I will go ahead and pick the USC UGA game though.

UGA will win if USC plays like they showed on Saturday. USC will win if UGA expects this. I don't think UGA will just forget about Spurrier but I also expect USC to come to play as well. I don't expect a shutout this time but I am leaning towards a UGA victory at this time....

Shoeless Fearless predictions:

Clemson 42 LA Monroe 21
UGA 21 USC 17

To all those who say I "sold out"

This is a post I made on Tigernet earlier but wanted to post it here and this will kick off my "season" blogging for 2007...

First of all, maybe you are dense or something but I DIDN’T get any job with Clemson. IN FACT, when Clemson heard it was “Shoeless” who wanted to help them out they didn’t want to have anything to do with ME. I am not making videos at all anymore for Clemson, for money or for no money. I’m not selling them online for Clemson (or any other outlet) either.

I really don’t understand what is so difficult about that.

The plan was to do that, but even if I had... what about this would have been selling out?

I have worked for nearly 3 years for FREE… when’s the last time you put in 20+ hours a week on something that didn’t pay you a dime? Even if I had started getting paid to make these videos I wouldn’t actually turn a profit for a year or more but I still had to try. You try working a full time job, going to games, having a girlfriend and a life and putting in 20 hours a week for free on something that gives back zero in monetary value. It is a bad investment, but I did it b/c Clemson fans loved it. Even fans of other schools (FSU, VT, Texas, ND, SC, NCSU, Florida to name a few) would write me at times telling me that even they enjoyed my videos “even if it was for the wrong team”.

From my “hobby” I have earned a career, lots of friends, great memories, and saved $1000s b/c I don’t drink or go blow my money on alcohol like all the “cool” people do. Not to mention it granted me access to the players and coaches last season as well as sideline access for the Bowl and Spring games. Its not like all I do is sit at home and make videos in some dungeon of my mom’s house. I have a career, live alone in my own place, have a girlfriend, go to the games (home and away), do everything a lot of people do, I just made a decision a few years ago to sleep 3 hours less a night during football season so that I could make these videos.

Another thing. I didn’t go up to Clemson to try to get paid. I went to them to ask permission to continue making videos. I went to the university so that I could improve my quality of video for Clemson. I never asked Clemson for a penny and we were hoping to give any extra money we earned back to Clemson as well as some charities.

I’m sorry to say it, but highlight videos have a ceiling… you can’t make them too fast or nobody can tell what is going on. You can’t make them too slow or it’s just a bunch of boring clips. You have to try and tell a story of the game with music and highlights that are relevant. That can get pretty boring every week when essentially all I’m doing is telling the same story with different video clips and music. Not to say that I, among others, didn’t enjoy that… but I wanted to take it a step further. I wanted to added NEW stories to the mix. I wanted to show an entire season as a story with behind the scenes footage of players and coaches. I wanted to offer videos you COULDN’T get on TV or otherwise. I wanted to give you everything you could ever want about Clemson football and for a minimal price and Clemson didn’t want to move in that direction.

So to say I “sold out” is insulting and laughable as well as to fault me for trying. Clemson is in a bad place right now and every-time they show that late 80s, early 90s video during the pre-game they take another small step backwards. Many schools, including Notre Dame, GT, and even SC are moving forward with online video and Clemson is not. It might take a year, it might take 10 but Clemson wasn’t open to most of our ideas and that’s a shame b/c I was willing to work for literally pennies on the dollar to do this. I wanted to do this LAST season and now they’ve blown their chance again for at least another year.

Clemson deserves the royal treatment on the video side - ask your IPTAY rep to get behind a new approach for online video. If you want to help, call the athletic department and ask them to be open to change.

If they tried to hire any other professionals to do this they would spend $10s to $100s of THOUSANDS and would not get nearly the heart, effort, or desire I would put into it alone. I loved doing what I was doing and Clemson decided for me that it was over.

Sorry for the rant but it’s insulting to me when someone says I sold out without merit.
