Need to do some more to catch back up so 5 movies this time...

Rookie of the year:
Some movies just happen to be on TV when I'm flipping through the channels on TV (HBO) I sometimes (mostly) don't have much to do so I'll watch an old cl@$$ic. So Here is one of these movies. Have you never seen Rookie of hte year? If you haven't you should. Great movie with great lines and really funny scenes. Anyway, i think this movie is one of the best stupid, baseball, kiddie movies ever!

Sandlot 3: heading home
And while we are on stupid cheesy kiddie, baseball, movies... here's another one! So the Sandlot three is about a kid who left the sandlot and became a big time baseball player but is the most selfish jerk ever! so he gets hit in the head with a ball and gets blasted back in time and gets to try again... so long story short, 1 part cheese, 2 parts boring, 3 parts corny = sandlot 3.

Happily Never After:
Cartoon about the @$$istants to merlin who are incharge of making sure that the scales of good and evil are always tipped to good at all times... no this isn't a Islamic training video even though some people would probably want to blow themselves up after seeing it but I digress. I didn't think it was that bad anyway. It was a little sappier than Iwould have liked but not bad at all... for some reason watching cartoons being cheesy and sappy isn't nearly as annoying as watching real life people do the same... esp when the females are ridiculously over proportionate in all the right places if you know what i'm saying :wink wink... it gives young girls a nice realistic body type they should strive for haha...

pee-wee's big adventure (HBO):
Have you ever seen this movie? if not then you are missing out. This is cl@$$ic Tim Burton and he is at his best in this one. Over-the-top humor mixed in with the creepiness only Pee-Wee Herman can bring you! all rolled into one! SWEET!! There are some completely CL@$$IC moments in this movie and all I can say is watch this movie again if you haven't seen it in 15 years like I hadn't.

Gladiator (HBO):
Violence, action, betrayal, murder, war, sex, violence, more violence, graphic violence, incest, slavery, kings behaving badly, Tigers eating people, what's not to love?!?!?!? great movie and the critics agreed, that's why it won best picture and best actor back in 1999 or whenever the heck this movie came out ... or i should say, when this movie kicked @$$!! woot!

There will be blood:
Another best picture nominee. Great movie. Very good. I could have easily voted this as the best movie of 2007 and the nominees. The jist of the movie is this... guy is into money, wants lots of it, doesn't care what he has to do to get it = awesome movie. Very cool stuff. I don't want to give anything away but they could have called this movie "there will be awesome" b/c it was.

Rush hour 3:
Jackie Chan and Chris Tucker are at it again and if you liked the 1st two you'll like this one as well. I won't tell you much about the plot b/c its essentially the same as the otehr two Rush Hours but I will say that the Cab Driver steals the movie.

Crazy psycho guy decides to go on a killing spree that is very unrealistic and also very filled with action. The main girl is super hot and needed to be wearing less clothes more often but i digress... decent movie but I don't care to see it again.

Music and lyrics:
Chick flick, as expected but not as boring as some chick flicks are. I enjoyed the humor in this movie a little more than I expected. So here's a summary, Dude is a washed up 80s pop star/song writer, chick is his newly higher lady who waters his plants, they are opposites but very perfect for each other. There's this super hot slutty young pop-star girl who is wanting to sing a perfect song for her upcoming tour debut and she asks wash-up to write her a song... in a week. Chick comes in to help. they fall for each other... blah blah blah. Decent movie with much better humor than I can portray in a paragraph in a blog that nobody reads.

Little children:
Summary: there's this guy (who's supposed to be hot) and he is a stay at home dad for the time being until he p@$$es his Bar exam so he can make money and he's married to Jennifer Connelly who is smoking hot and yet he's bored b/c he's a fruit or something i guess... anyway, there are some local stay at home moms who always see this guy with his child at the playground and they call him some childish nickname b/c they want to jump his bones or whatever and this one house wife played by Kate Winslit decides to befriend the guy and they get into an affair. So blah blah blah... lots of sex and running around and weird stuff and then a weird ending.

The dead girl:
So this girl turns up dead in a field or something and all these different people are affected in vastly different ways. One is a friend, one is the person who found the body, one is the mother of the victim. The dead girl def had a pulse and was a great movie... sorry i had to use some kind of stupid cliche in one of my reviews right?

the Chronicals of Narnia: Prince Caspian:
Because clueless wanted to see a movie in the theatre, we went and saw the latest of her fav set of cheesy movies. I wasn't really impressed (same as the first). The oldest of the sisters is hot though but I'm sure she's only 15 or something in real life. The fight scenes were cheesy and over dramatic the special effects were decent but there's too many creatures to keep it sane. The overall story was fine just the story is over dramatic and cheesy to the point where all i want to do is make fun of it as i'm watching.

Breaking and Entering:
So this dude (played by jude law) is an architect and happily unmarried ot this woman who has some wacked out little girl... and this guy's business keeps getting broken into (b'c it's on the wrong side of town) and so he sets up shop to find the perpetrator... and he finds this kid is doing it and follows him home but then falls for the kid's mom and sleep with her. and then she blackmails him and he struggles to figure out what to do and then they are live happily ever after... ok not really but that's the best way to end a plot synopsis right?

Alien vs Predator Requium:
More aliens killing more predators killing more aliens and now a super alien that was spawned from a predator! GASP! crazy huh? well that's the movie in a nut shell. If you like blood and guts and violence and lots of death, see this movie, if not... keep moving.

Note: I actually reviewed this movie in my last HDFR and confused it with Catch and release so this review has already been done and I"ll now really review "catch and release" for hte first time haha sorry.

Catch and release:
this movie actually stars jennifer garner and not mandy moore. Good movie. It's written by Kevin Smith (you know the dogma, mallrats, jay and silent bob guy who rarely make a bad movie) and is about a girl who's fiance tragically dies and now she is left to pick up the peices and finds out her groom to be actually had an illigitament son with another woman. so she sleeps around and tries to find love again and pick up her pieces to move on.

Aqua teen hunger force the movie:
I really was surprised last year when I found out they were making a movie from this show. Mainly b/c I the show is usually 15 minutes long with commercials on Adult swim so when I found out they made a 90 min movie i was thinking "what in the world?" but here I am reviewing it.... So if you've seen the show and don't get it, you'll feel the same about this movie. If you love the show i'm sure you'll love the movie. I was somewhere in the middle and that's where I stand. I laughed a little and once or twice pretty hard but as a full movie it wasn't that great.

Best picture nominee and a great movie. I have seen a few people's reviews who "didn't get why everyone liked this movie so much" and I just have to say to them they don't know a good movie. It was different it was funny it was interesting it was half-way true to life and it captured the emotions of every character realistically and precisely. After seeing this movie I was really surprised at how much I like it.

Catch and release:
Chick flick with a double story line. Half love story between girl and her "men" and half heart warming tale between a mother and her daughter who both share the same feelings (and mistakes) about love. I really didn't get anything out of this movie b/c I"m neither a woman, a daughter, or a slut so I guess I can't really relate to this one. I do think mandy moore is hot and I'd hit it but the best scene in the movie had to be when they went to the spa and stripped down to their undies and even that left me disappointed (stupid PG 13 movies and the lack of nudity!)
(EDIT: opps... I switched the titles "catch and release" and "because I said so" up so this is actually the wrong movie I reviewed... but I'll be reviewing "catch and release" in my next HDFR... sorry!)

Cloverfield:
So this was the movie that made people motion sick and everyone had to be warned about before seeing so they wouldn't get sick but I was impressed. Very good special effects and the creature was really cool looking. I know I wouldn't want to be caught in NYC with that thing on the loose. I thought the way they set up the movie was cool too.. want to know what that was? ok, well i'll tell you. It was set a couple of weeks/months after the attack on teh city and they discover this tape of the main characters who filmed their experience as it happened. It starts weeks before the attack and makes its way to the final encounter with the creature. very cool

The water horse: legend of the deep:
kids version of the lock ness monster. Very "cute" and cheesy but not that great of a movie. Maybe i just really want to believe in the lock ness monster but can't or maybe watching a movie about it that wasn't that good but i ws pretty annoyed with the movie. the special effects were pretty bad at the beginning of hte movie then got better, plus they completely ignored some scientific stuff... such as... if a child was raced down to the bottom of the loch at the speed he was and then raced up to the surface again... he'd be instantly killed. Therefore the movie should have been about 30 mins long and ended very tragically haha.

he Golden Comp@$$:
So we wanted to watch this b/c it was the story written by the guy who is non-christian and he wanted to write a children's story that wasn't Godly or Biblical or whatever... so we watched it and it wasn't terrible. I think movie goers must be getting stupider and stupider though, b/c there's no way this movie should have been 95 minutes or whatever it was. Same thing goes for the recent Harry Potter's and all other "children's" books, chocked full of details and plot twists, that are made into movies that are 90 mins long. You just can't have a good movie made from a book under 2 hours long. So really my biggest complaint about the movie was that it clearly left out half of the good stuff and I don't really feel like going back and reading the book now so I'll just give it this half @$$ rating.

Lots of cheesy cl@$$ic disney scenes with corny music etc... but that was the point. It was very good at poking fun of itself and the story was pretty good considering it was half cartoon and half "real" movie. I enjoyed it much more than I was expecting but still don't really care to see it again.

Lars and the real girl:
Great story about a guy is socially awkward and decides to buy a sex-doll to keep him company and he falls in love with it and with help of the whole town finds out that he's more than just a weird dude with a sex-doll but actually is loved by the whole community. So that's the plot and if it grabbed you go see it... otherwise just keep making a weird face at the computer screen and don't.

King of California:
This one was cool. It had the girl from 13 (Evan Rachel Wood) who was super slutty and she's grown into a nice little actress and this movie was def a good moment for Michael Douglas and his acting career. Good movie. Dark and weird and clearly not a mainstream flick but I enjoyed it. I look forward to more movies with Evan Rachel Wood in them... that's for sure!

So, they tried to be funny. It had its moments but as a whole it was really bad. You really don't stop feeling sorry for the guys and you just never feel like there could ever be people this stupid and desperate... but i'm sure there are. I really don't feel like writing anymore about this movie b/c it doesn't deserve it.
