CHARLESTON, W.Va. (AP)—Houston wide receiver Patrick Edwards said Wednesday he holds no animosity toward Marshall, a day after he ran into a service cart and broke his leg in a game against the Thundering Herd.

The freshman was going after a pass at full speed in the third quarter Tuesday night when his right shin hit a cart in the back of the end zone. A referee immediately called for help and Edwards was carried off the field.

A Cabell Huntington Hospital spokesman said Edwards was in good condition Wednesday following surgery.

Edwards told The Associated Press from his hospital room in Huntington that he didn’t see several carts that were parked against a grass embankment.

“I just saw the ball in the air and once it came down, I hit the cart and flipped over it,” Edwards said.

He doesn’t blame Marshall but said the Conference USA officiating crew should have ensured the carts were moved away.

“They are supposed to check and see if everything is off the field,” Edwards said.

His mother, Patricia Edwards, told Houston television station KRIV she is considering legal action against Marshall.

“I thought I didn’t have a son anymore, the way he flipped,” she said. “I thought we had lost him. He could have been paralyzed or something.”

Marshall athletic director Bob Marcum said the carts, used by Marshall’s band, will be relocated at future games.

“We are sorry the accident took place and wish Patrick a quick and full recovery,” said Marcum, who also talked to Houston athletic director Dave Maggard about the accident.

Conference USA commissioner Britton Banowsky said, “Clearly, all of us in athletics administration share in the responsibility for ensuring that the events conducted on our campuses are as safe as possible for the participants and I’m certain we will stay focused on that objective.”

The game was televised nationally and the accident has already been shown thousands of times on the Internet—even Edwards said he saw the replay.

Edwards, Houston’s leading receiver with 634 yards on 46 catches, suffered a compound fracture and had a rod inserted in his lower right leg during surgery, said Houston associate athletic director Chris Burkhalter.

Marshall coach Mark Snyder, safety C.J. Spillman and defensive end Albert McClellan visited Edwards on Wednesday.

“He was in good spirits,” Snyder said. “We wanted him to know that he is part of our extended football family and that we are here to help him in any way we can.”

Marshall athletics spokesman Randy Burnside said the university’s insurance carrier will pay for Edwards’ medical bills.

Edwards is expected to make a full recovery.

“The doctor said I will be good, ready for next season,” Edwards said.

The Marshall AD should be ashamed...

So, I'm sitting here watching the Houston @ Marshall game on ESPN2 here tonight and this poor WR for Houston is just running his route trying to make a catch and he runs out the back of the endzone... only to have his leg broken and mangled by some "awesomely" placed wagons/carts.

UNF#@$ING BELIEVABLE MARSHALL! How dare you leave something like that so close to the field and even worse... UNATTENDED! It's not like they left a couple of sports bags and the WR stepped on them and broke his ankle. No, that would be understandable. They left 3 or 4 oversized wagons just off the field of play and as this WR was running out the back of the endzone (warning what I'm about to write is pretty graphic)... his foot went under the wagon's "basket" and yet his body was going over and it pretty much snapped his leg. I was instantly sick to my stomach watching this and would like to give major props to ESPN2 who then decided to show the replay in slow-mo a good 5 more times. Thanks guys!

I really don't understand why they were left where they were left to begin with! Why not roll them out of the endzone... or behind the benches against the wall where they are less likely to have someone running full speed towards them? I feel so badly for that kid right now. Why couldn't someone at least put something in front of the cart? Why was no one standing next to or in front of them? At least someone could have warned the kid running at them. Extremely poor placement Marshall.

I hope that Marshall will do something to reverse the damages, but you and I both know they won't... so, I hope they get sued, and I hope they have to pay BIG! Yes, accidents happen but that should have never happened. That one is on the Herd and I feel so sorry for that kid.

EDIT: The WR that was injured was Freshman Patrick Edwards. He was doing exceptionally well this season before the injury. Let's hope he can re-hab and come back next season and shove that in Marshall's face!

Clemson fans..."So you're saying there's a chance!?"

Granted... its not very likely or even a good chance that it'll ever happen...

but you've still got a chance!!

Check it:

1st and most importantly: The Tigers have to, gotta, most def need to, win out... that's the hardest and most important part of this whole thing right now... They can't lose a single game the rest of the season and there's no debating that's probably impossible to even consider right now; but, they've still gotta play the games.

2nd: We need a few teams to lose a few times...
WF: need 2 more ACC losses from them, we got one of them today vs Miami and we'll need another loss (or better yet 2) out of their last 4 ACC games. Unfortunately for the Tigers they've got Duke, UVA, NCSU and BC left. But if they can some how fall to a 5-3 final ACC record, it could be enough for us if we win out, even with the head-to-head tie breaker. Which is why we need 2 losses from them.

Maryland: gotta have them lose today (come on NC State! you've gottem tied at the half pull it out for us JUST THIS ONE TIME!), and then they close with VT, UNC, FSU, and BC I could def see them losing 2 or more of these games.

Edit: forgot FSU: need them to lose to VT or any other team and us (see 1st step).

That's it! That's all that we need to happen to still have a chance at an ACC title.
Do I think it'll happen? No! but I can still hope right?

It'll take pretty much an act of God for anything like this to happen but stranger things have happened right?

Keep hope alive!

"Get the 'F' out!" as the old WWF said when becoming WWE!

So I dropped the "F" in my abbreviation for this and it'll now just be "Higher Def Reviews!" ... easier and more streamline to help save MPGs and keep your CO2 levels at an all time low! We are greener and sexier than ever!

Ok not really: back to the reviews!

College Road Trip:
MARTIN!! Mr Martin Lawrence plays a cop father and his daughter is rushing off to college as fast as she can and he's feeling the empty nest already. He wants her to go to college close to home and she wants to go some place else. Sounds worse than it is.... but it's funny stuff; Not LOL funny but chuckle every now and then funny. I liked it. It was entertaining family fun and I would watch it again if it came on TBS at 2PM on a Sunday, not during football season, after church, if I were sick, and the remote was too far way to get up and change it.

HDR: and a half (notice I abbreviated the rating text too ha!! streamlined baby)

The Bank Job:
Based on a true story, these guys come up with the perfect plan to jump a bank over there in the UK. They plan it and accomplish it and only have 100 things go wrong in the process... ok not 100 things but like 2 or 3 really bad things and a handful of little things. No... it's not a comedy either. It's got Jason Stathom (sp?) in it, you know the guy from The Transporter movies and he's just as bad @$$ as always and he probably wanted to kill more people and have sex with more girls than were in the movie but you can blame the real life people for screwing that one up. Good flick overall... very entertaining.

Blushing Bloopers:
OK, so netflix "recommended" this one for me to "watch now" when I was working on my computer and I read the info for it and it seemed to contain boobs so I watched it and it didn't really contain many boobs... or at least boobs I really wanted to see (apparently boobs have improved greatly in the last 40 years). But I digress... so this was basically a "bloopers from TV shows from the 40s-70s" movie... and it was just that. Not great, but interesting as background noise while working on my computer.

Facing the Giants:
If you are Christian and haven't heard of this movie, then you need to watch it and turn it on to your church b/c they'd appreciate it. As a filmmaker I wasn't impressed with the cinematography, acting, script, or really anything other than the plot but it was still very impressed with this movie considering the budget. I liked it and would watch it again. Basic story is ... coach is about to be fired, but he's a good guy (no its not tommy Bowden)... coach rallies the troops and team and they win and it's all bc of God... not really but God is the motivation. Good movie, bad acting.

Be Kind Rewind:
Two guys work at a local video store (ha videos... psst!), one guy (Jack Black) erase all the tapes and then they are screwed. They decide to make hte movie again using a VCR camcorder and they are way more interesting than the original. This movie could have been a lot better than it was. I don't really know why it wasn't better actually. I think that my buddy karl and I could make much funnier and interesting "re-recorded movies" similar to the original that people would get a kick out of. ehh.... it's already forgettable.

NEW WEBSITE!!

Hey everyone!

Sorry again for the lack of blogs but I've been spending my usual "blogging" time to update the website. I think its a big improvement from the last one and will give me more opportunity for updates and organization.

I hope to put more pictures and blogs and videos up now that I have a better site to display them.

More movie blogs are coming soon though, I promise. I haven't had a whole lot of time to watch lately.

More to come soon!
